So it’s December, again. Where did another year go? I have no idea either.
Safe to say this year was full noise for the YS crew; we certainly had our share of mountains to climb. What never ceases to make me proud is watching how the team constantly rises to meet those challenges. So how best to summarise 2017? This year I’m giving big ups to some of our fun stuff. After all, it’s the real reason why we all get out of bed every morning, so in no particular order…
Spiked Punch for V
Spiked Punch was created to spike the boring side of life. But who most deserved to get a proper serve from the V fanbase? Instagram is total yawnfest. So we pointed the V fans at hashtags that took themselves way too seriously and invited them to f@#k with other people’s stuff.

The Mix for Lion
Cocktail inspiration for every occasion. We rebuilt the website from the ground up. And along with a fresh, new face and intuitive UI we recreated all the content – 48 video recipes, 48 stills and 12 cinemagraphs; all shot in only two days. We all needed a drink after that!

Shave for a Cure for LBC
If you want to talk someone into shaving their head, it has to feel like fun. And so that’s what the Shave for a Cure campaign is all about – doing something a little bit crazy for a really great cause. What’s more, working as a closely knit team with our clients we all had a great time delivering the campaign. Would you shave your head for a cure?
Tokyo Dry for Lion
What do you get when NZ’s finest raw ingredients get a Japanese mastery makeover? The biggest NPD launch in a decade for our friends at Lion. Our task was to launch their new beer digitally. The campaign also picked up multiple Effies at the 2017 show; a result the YS team were super proud to have been a part of (shout out to the other agencies on the launch).

Reggie Does Snaps for Dog Zen
Mark Vette taught a dog to drive a car and fly a plane. Sadly his social media skills are lacking. So we embarked (pun intended) on his next training feat – train a dog to use SnapChat. Introducing Reggie; Dog Zen’s new Social Media Manager. Armed with his own pair of modified Snap Specs, Reggie took over Dog Zen’s social media. No seriously, he actually takes his own Snaps.
