Kiwi Property gave us a challenge. To launch six brand new websites in time for Christmas, designed and developed from the ground up, that are beautiful and reflect our new branding (“and make them fully responsive too please”).

To do this, we used a new process that allowed us to design and develop in parallel. Instead of designing a flat site in photoshop, the client saw the work in a browser so they understood how the site worked. The site was managed in three sprints with more of the site progressively completed so all six sites were delivered within 12 weeks, all in time for their mad Christmas rush.

With this site we also introduced a new code framework, we discovered a relatively new technology based on Universal JavaScript applications which has been adopted by some of the major players in the industry, namely Reddit, Spotify and AirBnB. Universal applications allowed us to write a single codebase in JavaScript, which then pre-renders on the server and serves up static, built pages to allow for faster executions of code. The result is an impressively simple site that’s fast with a core CMS that can manage site-wide content from one home.
