Working with Hellers to create a website that can solve any snag

When people go grocery shopping, they’re not just thinking about individual ingredients, but how those ingredients are going to come together in a delicious meal. That’s why creating a relationship between Hellers products and meal inspiration was a crucial part of the Hellers website redesign. Hellers has long been New Zealand’s Butcher. From Gorg Heller serving smallgoods to Kiwi gold miners in Arrowtown to cafes and restaurants serving meals aplenty to hungry punters across Aotearoa. Yet, despite their products evolving to keep up with Kiwis palettes, their website was lagging behind. The site was out-dated, unengaging, sausage-centric, and featured an abundance of raw product shots. So, we were tasked with bringing the site up to the Hellers standard, creating a meal inspiration hub for Kiwi households.
The recipe was simple. Create a site that not only inspires shoppers to cook with Hellers, but that flaunts their delicious product range (beyond sausages). To do this, we featured mouth-watering foodie shots, implemented a modern product display, and created an innovative recipe inspiration tool – all wrapped up in a mobile-friendly design. But Hellers’ products and meal inspiration weren’t the only ingredients of success. To capture the personality of the iconically Kiwi brand, known for not taking itself too seriously, we crafted the copy to add a bit of Hellers’ wit to every page. And with competitions and news functions coming soon, the site will soon offer as much breadth as the Hellers product range itself. So next time you need some meal inspiration, a quick trip to the Hellers website will have you saying – “Thank Heavens for Hellers”.
