Vector is New Zealand’s largest energy distributor, helping millions of Aucklanders heat, cool, light, move, and stay connected every day.
When they came to us, their website wasn’t keeping up. It felt dated, wasn’t designed with mobile users in mind, and no longer reflected their refreshed brand. So together, we set out to relaunch Vector’s digital presence—from redefining their brand architecture to crafting a modern, flexible design system.
We kicked things off with deep research: testing early wireframes, talking to customers, and gathering insights from key stakeholders. Everything we learned shaped a clear set of UX and UI principles that guided every stage of design and development.
Our in-house development team brought the new site to life using Payload, a modern open-source headless CMS. Its flexibility meant we could build a simple, intuitive interface that makes updates easy for the Vector team.
The result? A fresh, modern website that makes it easy for all of Vector’s audiences—trade, residential, and B2B—to find what they need. Today, it supports over 1.5 million Aucklanders with a smoother, more accessible experience.
